About the Role
In FTI Consulting’s Australian Economic & Financial Consulting practice, we help our clients navigate legal, regulatory and international arbitration proceedings while supporting strategic decision making and public policy debates around the world. Delivering incisive interpretation of complex economic issues has made us a global leader in this field.
After successfully launching our Australian Economic & Financial Consulting (EFC) practice in 2018, we are now looking to expand our small but growing national team to deliver even more value to our clients. We have offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth.
We are currently seeking a data analytics expert with strong Python skills and comfortable dealing with large data sets such as energy market data and climate data. For this position, we are looking for someone with minimum four years’ experience and high-level skills in areas including:
- Python
- Data wrangling
- Understanding linear programming
- Statistical analysis
As a group, we look for people that can take complex problems and use strong analytical frameworks and communication skills to deliver robust solutions to clients in straightforward, non-technical language.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the development of the Australian EFC data analytics capability
- Work with FTI Consulting’s international staff to develop a local electricity market modelling capability
- Produce reports, presentations and other client deliverables
- Contribute to business development, including identifying new opportunities and preparing proposals and bids
- Develop and acquire new skills by participating in internal and external training and educational opportunities.
Qualifications & Experience
The successful applicant is likely to have the following skills and experience:
- A degree in a relevant area such as IT, mathematics, economics, finance or a related discipline.
- High level Python skills.
- Strong data management skills (data wrangling, model building, understanding of linear programming and statistical analysis).
- Strong written and spoken communication skills.
- Excellent teamwork skills, and a positive and flexible approach.
