Senior Director, Dispute Advisory Services (Intellectual Property) | Forensic and Litigation Consulting
About the Role
We are involved in complex, global and high-profile litigation, arbitration and investigations combining end-to-end risk advisory, investigative and disputes expertise to deliver holistic solutions for our clients.
Our Dispute Advisory Services (DAS) Intellectual Property practice assists early stage to Fortune 500 companies, and plaintiffs' and defendants' counsel with complex applied-economic, financial, accounting, and valuation dispute and non-dispute related assignments involving patent, trademark and copyright infringement, ITC investigations, and theft of trade secret matters.
What You’ll Do
- Be directly responsible for revenue generation, providing expert witness testimony, and day-to-day project management and the preparation of underlying analytical support across multiple projects simultaneously
- Advise legal counsel, management and licensing professionals in early case risk assessment, technology valuation and licensing strategy
- Source new Intellectual Property economic damages business in all industry sectors with primary focus on patent, trademark, or copyright infringement and trade secret misappropriation
- Source new Intellectual Property valuation business in all industry sectors with primary focus on transaction advisory (buy-sell, licensing, M&A, etc.) and strategic decision-making
How You’ll Grow
The Senior Director will play an integral role in building and expanding the Intellectual Property economic damages and valuation business across all FTI Consulting’s industry groups with a primary focus on Los Angeles corporate and law firm contacts.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related degree • A graduate degree or related certification (MBA, CPA, PhD (economics), ASA, ABV)
- Solid understanding of economic damages, valuations and financial theory, but most importantly, a willingness to learn the business and be actively involved in all facets of Intellectual Property litigation and valuation
- Prior expert witness testimony experience
