The FTI Consulting Technology practice offers clients a comprehensive portfolio of e-discovery software, services and consulting support to help them streamline processes that are often reactive and risk-prone. This helps them control the risk and expense of e-discovery events more confidently.

 

Our team of global professionals and industry leaders includes e-discovery experts, software developers, and forensic specialists who are experienced in many of the largest e-discovery matters of the past decade. We work directly with corporations and their law firms on the front lines, helping them with challenges such as collection from the cloud, multinational discovery, and e-discovery cost control.

 

Position Summary 

 

This Senior Consultant position is a part of FTI Consulting’s Technology practice. As part of the Consulting team, the Senior Consultant is responsible for leading delivering consulting projects and working directly with FTI clients to lead the design, development, including documentation, and delivery of standardised workflows from data load through review and production. In this role, the consultant will be responsible for the strategic planning and direction of consulting projects, including working closely with other FTI consultants to bring together the appropriate team of experts from across the organisation to satisfy the specific business requirements and needs for each engagement. This work includes delivering on-site and remote assistance to FTI clients with established workflows and a goal of enabling clients to be self-sufficient in their administration, management and optimised use of FTI products.  

 


Key Responsibilities 

 

The primary responsibility of this position is related to case & project management, consulting and management of client data.

  • Monitor and respond to client requests including case support, processing, importing and exporting of data
  • Liaise with clients and project managers regarding client requests and manage expectations
  • Assess workflow requirements based on clients’ tactical needs and business objectives, then develop a strategic plan to design, document and deliver a workflow that meets those requirements
  • Identify weaknesses and gaps in existing business and technology use, processes and best practices, then design a workflow consulting project that will optimise client’s use of technology and close the gaps 
  • Bring together a team of FTI experts to partner together in developing custom processes, defined best practices, and optimised use of technology to fit clients’ business model and needs
  • Participate as a contributor on the FTI team that will document workflows, processes and best practices developed specifically for each client, and deliver to client in conjunction with roll-out 
  • Assist clients on-site with managing document loading and review projects using FTI software
  • Manage review and workflow using both Analytics and TAR
  • Be responsible for engagement management, including client and internal (to FTI stakeholders) communication, progress reports and project status updates 
  • Become proficient in all aspects of FTI’s products and applications regarding their functionality and associated technologies
  • Assume responsibility for day-to-day data management which may include; processing, conversion, analysis, quality control, import and other specialised tasks including interaction with other consultants, supervisors and client personnel
  • Be customer-service-oriented to meet client deadlines, including working out of business hours when necessary.
  • Travel as required to ensure effective management of case activities. (Minimal notice possible)


Key Requirements

  • Solid experience working in an e-Discovery or technology related role with experience in NUIX Discover (Ringtail) and/or Relativity
  • Self developer that demonstrates an ability to solve complex problems with well thought out innovative solutions.
  • Electronic discovery (eDiscovery) experience or experience managing document review teams.
  • Ability to manage time and prioritise tasks effectively. Ability to work effectively as part of a team and support the team’s goals above individual goals.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while handling multiple tasks through completion.
  • Good communicator who can perform in a client facing role.
  • Flexible with working hours and has the ability to work in a cross-functional team.
  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in communications or technology-related field Exceptional leadership, interpersonal, and verbal and written communication skills 
  • Familiarity of data manipulation using MS Access,Excel and preferably SQL
  • Working knowledge of the Electronic Discovery Reference Model (EDRM) Preferred experience in processing data in Nuix or equivalent data processing platforms 


Key Relationships 


This position reports to a Senior Director of the Consulting Technology practice. The position will be expected to provide guidance to Consultants in the practice, and will be expected to follow onsite directions from the Technology practice leaders on a project basis.
