FTI Consulting is recruiting a Manager (Director) for its energy team based in Paris to support its double-digit growth in the energy business.

 
 
What You'll Do
 

The Manager (Director) will work on high-stakes economic and business issues, covering five essential topics relating to the energy industry:

 
  • Strategy – Example: Advising an infrastructure company on the possible business models for the production of renewable gas (hydrogen or methane)

  • Dispute – Example: Determining an oil & gas company’s lost profits following a delay in the commissioning of a Liquefied Natural Gas plant

  • Regulation – Example: Determining access rules for electricity producers in an emerging country

  • Transaction – Example: Conducting the commercial due diligence on a smart meter company for a potential acquirer

  • Competition – Example: Analysing and adjusting a support mechanism for a new nuclear power plant in order to comply with European competition law

 
 
How You'll Grow
 

This is an excellent opportunity to join a team of experts in the Energy sector and to contribute to its growth. The Manager will be based at FTI Consulting’s central Paris office, with sporadic travels within Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). They will join a team of about 45 members specialising in energy across EMEA.

 
 
Basic qualifications / Qualifications & Experience
 
  • The candidates should have significant experience in the energy sector, strong analytical and consulting methods as well as robust presentation skills, combined with recognised expertise in several sub-sectors of the energy field. He or she will be expected to progressively develop into an experienced manager role, organising the work of junior staff as well as his/her own, and managing an increasing share of the client interaction.

 
  • The candidates should have a robust quantitative background that will allow them to perform detailed economic analyses. Experience in financial analysis, although not a requirement, would be positively assessed.

 
  • They must have gained significant experience in addressing strategic, economic and regulatory issues in the energy sector (electricity, natural gas, oil, coal, renewables…); as well as have an appetite to further develop their expertise on those issues.

 
  • The candidates are expected to have had client exposure, being capable of presenting their work to decision-makers in an effective and convincing manner. Some experience in managing entry-level staff would also be appreciated for the more experienced profiles.

 
  • They should be able to speak and write fluently in both English. Any additional language would be positively assessed.
