About the Role

 

We leverage our extensive experience in accounting, financial planning and analysis, public reporting, control processes, tax and compliance to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, efficient capital allocation and sound financial planning.

 

This exciting management role is responsible for financial and accounting matters for the EMEA Forensic & Litigation Consulting (FLC) practice. The key objectives are to oversee local business segment related accounting operations, including revenue recognition; creation and maintenance of management reports needed to support the business; billing and collection processes and provide data to the central EMEA Finance team as well as the FLC Finance Director and their team for monthly close. The person selected will assist EMEA leadership with the development and implementation of operational policies and procedures and undertake reporting requirements as requested by Senior Management.

 

This role has dual reporting lines into the FLC EMEA regional Head as well as FLC’s segment Finance team in FTI’s US headquarters. The role also works closely with leaders of FLC’s sub-segment businesses as well as the central EMEA Finance team who have accountability for the internal control environment, group and statutory reporting. The individual in this role is expected to partner with the business to undertake P&L reviews and to deliver timely and accurate financial information centred on revenue and costs.

    

What You'll Do

  • Prepare monthly internal management reports and provide accurate summaries of financial performance
  • Work with segment personnel to implement necessary policies and procedures and monitor compliance
  • Manage and improve new client engagement process from Finance perspective, sign off on terms and conditions affecting revenue recognition
  • Coordinate with central finance on monthly billing, manage accounts receivable collection efforts, and assist with efforts to reduce overall DSO
  • Assist with interface between EMEA FLC practitioners and EMEA shared service team to facilitate processes related to travel and expense reimbursement, invoice processing, payroll, and other shared service functions
  • Promote process improvements and automation related to Elite and other financial systems
  • Assist internal and external auditors as necessary
  • Track short term pipeline revenue and monitor fixed fee projects and time and material engagements for appropriate revenue recognition
  • Monitor accounts receivable and WIP for collectability- propose monthly realization and bad debt adjustments based on input from billing/supervising timekeepers and assessment of aging in line with US GAAP.
  • Oversee processing of time and invoices for external consultants working with FTI. Includes review of non-standard contracts, arranging approval and payment of invoices and review of time entries per case as billed to clients.
  • Approval of write off requests for final billing and Accounts Payable invoices for coding to the ledger (daily)
  • General support to the business in all Finance related issues

Qualifications & Experience

 

  • ACCA, CFA or CIMA
  • P&L management experience
  • Experience with accounting/reporting for international entities in EMEA
  • Ability to apply technical accounting concepts across matrix organisation with multiple EMEA offices and P&L’s
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve to achieve shared objectives and compliant reporting
  • Strong analytical and excellent written and oral communication skills in order to interface at all business levels
  • Willingness to learn new skills and develop an understanding of other support operations of the business
  • The ability to work effectively in a high growth environment and a rapidly changing organisation
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office and with financial and accounting systems and integrated data analytic tools
  • Consulting/Service industry experience and experience with Elite financial systems is a plus
